During my stay at Paris fashion week I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel. The Parisian neighborhood of Pigalle has undergone some restyling with the hippest bar and concept stores. Among these new hot spots is the Grand Pigalle Hotel, a boutique property by the Experimental Group, the hospitality outfit behind Experimental Cocktail Club and Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels in New York, London, and Paris.
The group’s cocktail background prevails throughout the hotel, which it calls a “bed and beverage,” from carpets embellished with martini glasses to cocktail minibars to the first floor’s wine bar.
The clubby interiors were done in collaboration with designer Dorothée Meilichzon, who outfitted the 37 rooms with amazing eye-catching wallpapers, brass lamps, animal-print carpets, and brightly patterned bathroom tiles which I fell in love with.
The ground floor acts as a hybrid lobby-lounge with an on point check-in desk and a cocktail and wine bar. And for guests who want to get into other parts of the city, the hotel has a restored vintage Citroën DS that will transport you to the Experimental Group’s other Paris establishments.
With its creamy stone façade and slate-grey bar and restaurant, this freshly restored hotel is a real standout among its well-worn neighbours on a lively street which I could perfectly explore from my rooftop windows with a panorama view over the city.
A hot and on point happening. A go see!!!
