Laura Mercier primers have had a special place in my beauty heart for a long time. I’ve been using the hydrating primer which contains hyaluronic Acid and a cocktail of anti-oxidants like vitamin A, C, and E for years. Not only for personal use but also for my clients. As Laura Mercier’s primers do not contain silicone but are water based, it’s a great catch to wear on its own, after skincare for a dewy healthy looking skin.
With the launch of the Pure Canvas Primer range Laura brought the primer collection to a whole new level. There is one for every skin property including a primer that creates a blurring soft focus effect, while the illuminating primer contains a slight pearl for that extra glow whenever your skin needs it. The perfecting primer resembles the original skin-perfecting primer and contains Green Tea Extract, a powerful antioxidant, helping to protect your skin from signs of aging, while Vitamin C visibly brightens and evens skin tone.
The hydrating (still my favorite) primer has all the extra benefits I mentioned before, while the protecting primer contains an SPF 30.
I can’t advise you on which one is the best, but you could ask yourself: what does my skin need right now?
What I can say is that I would invest in several throughout the year, (no, I am not kidding). One for summer, one for winter time, and maybe a night time pick me up, like the illuminating primer in between.
While you’re at it, have a look at new Pure Canvas Power Primer essence that creates a flawless canvas for make-up application. I’ve tried it several times prior to applying foundation after applying skincare, and instead, or layered with Laura Mercier’s hydrating primer. It has a balmy texture to it, without the greasiness, and glides onto skin effortlessly resulting in that flawless canvass we all crave. Looking forward to hear which one you chose.
