When I was asked to participate as a make-up artist at fashion fest Suriname I was very honored and excited to be flown in to share my make-up artistry knowledge and expertise by giving a masterclass, a workshop and to exert as chef de cabine during a photoshoot assignment on location.
During fashion fest (that was held at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Paramaribo) I had the opportunity to meet talented designers, upcoming models, promising make-up artists and in the meantime get to know the Dutch team members of fashion fest Suriname.
At the assigned trip to Albina where a fashion shoot with several themes and all disciplines were held, I noticed a model closing her eyes during lunch break for a minute. She looked so serene. Next to her exquisite features there was a certain lightness and elegancy around her that Peet and I decided to photograph her during a private shoot while wearing a creation by Peet Dullaert.
From a make-up artist point of view I was aiming to let the dress do all the talking. And that was exactly what I did where the words flawless, fresh and floating come together. A visionary project if you will, where skin looks flawless and dewy, imperfections are diminished and bone structure is highlighted with nothing but a rosebud salve to nourish Semora’s sculptured lips.
