COIFFURE AWARD 2024 – The 32nd edition at Studio 21

About last night…

On Sunday the 12th of May the winners of the Coiffure Awards were announced during the hairdressing event of the year. Congratulations to Rozan Zonneveld of Sjenkels in Leiden who was named Hairdresser of the Year 2024.

During this 32nd edition of the Coiffure Awards also known as the Oscars of the hairdressing awards, a renowned national and international jury rewarded Rozan Zonneveld in addition to the main prize. “Rozan Zonneveld showed a refreshing series that stood out for its simplicity and storytelling. Beautifully innovative and simple geometric shapes make it interesting stories that keeps you excited. She has shown wonderful technical skills, strong and creative in a minimalist scene,” the jury report said.

What more did the hairdresser of the year gala involve?

Hairdresser of the Year 2023 Arjan Bevers owner of Avanti Kappers held a spectacular show entitled Opulence. A story filled with rich immersive colors, cinematic aesthetics and dreamy textures. Being named ‘Hairdresser of the Year’ three times also means the very last show and the end of a chapter. After the spectacular Opulence show, Arjan received the prestigious Hall of Fame award presented by his sons.

Raoul van Delden was rewarded with the ‘Press Award’. He also won the award in the ‘Avant Garde’ category. As a member of the press I had the privilege to announce the winner of the press award. Nikkie de Jager a.k.a. Nikki Tutorials hosted the event, while Queen Makoma opened the evening. We want ABBA provided a musical intermezzo, and This is Beethoven closed the event. As you can imagine it was an enchanting evening full of craftmanship and glamour.

An overview of the winners:

Agnes Westerman won in the category ‘ladies in the Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe and Overijssel region’, and Francis Schroembges took home the award for the female category in the Zeeland, North Brabant and Limburg region.
Louise Vlaar received the award in the female category for the region North Holland and Flevoland and received the special ‘Schwarzkopf Hair Color Technician of the Year’ prize.
Judith Jager received an award for the ‘men’s North’ category, Yvonne Kok for ‘men’s South’.
The Capaldi team in Leeuwarden received the ‘Team Award’ for their joint effort.
The ‘Consumer Award’, which was also chosen by the Dutch public this year, went to Saskia Bolk-Mölder while Indy de Children was praised by the jury as ‘Young Talent’.

Laura van de Graaf (Schwarzkopf Professional) says: “The Coiffure Award gala was yet another great party, with a sold-out house. It is fantastic that the Coiffure Award can rightly be called THE most important event in the hairdressing industry. Through this competition, Schwarzkopf Professional offers every hairdresser in the Netherlands the opportunity to show their talent and craftsmanship, it is an ode to the craft. So much beautiful work has been submitted, we are really proud of the hairdressers!”
