When you get the opportunity to meet the renowned make artist Francesca Tolot during a masterclass held in Amsterdam, you grab it with both hands. Born near Venice Francesca’s first love is painting and her greatest influence is Renaissance art. Her work has attracted the top-tier clientèle most artists only dream about. From a make-up artist’s point of view Francesca, who is quite modest by the way, is one of the most creative and talented make-up artists out there. A true inspiration.
She has been Beyonce’s make-up artist for years, creating 36 iconic stage and video looks and counting… Also, Francesca has worked with Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and legends such as Elizabeth Taylor just to name a few. Quite frankly the celebrity list is endless. She has made her mark in the music arena as well as creating looks with Shakira and Alicia Keys.
The masterclass started with a Q&A, followed by a demonstration of one of the looks from the book with products from M.A.C Cosmetics. I would say Francesca has blessed handwriting, and it was great to be able to sit front row and see her build up a look from scratch. After this masterclass, a few more iconic and award-winning looks were showcased.
