LOUIS XV PARFUM
The Louis XV 1722 perfume is a true celebration: a fresh and original composition that elevates the spirit and awakens the senses. The oriental-woody blend opens with a slight metallic note, reflecting the sensation of champagne creations and gradually revealing warmer, seductive nuances on the skin as time passes. You will not be disappointed.
The perfume takes its name from the reign of the King of France and Navarre (1 September 1715 to 10 May 1774), the period in which the sparkling wine of Champagne acquired its nobility at court. It all began in 1722, with the coronation of the young king in the cathedral of Reims. During the subsequent festivities, this wine was served for the first time.
In the second half of the seventeenth century, perfume was introduced as a prestigious essence to wear when presenting to the king. In a sense, the idea of perfume as an essential part of everyday life was born.
Under Louis XV, the Court of Versailles was nicknamed “The Perfumed Court”, because one had to wear a different scent every day. The Marquise de Pompadour (1721-1764), the king’s lover, was passionate about perfumes and spent large sums of money on them. At the same time, this art-loving woman refined the art of presentation, especially by using crystal or porcelain bottles for her perfumes.
The irresistible, woody blend opens with metallic notes, mirroring the sensation the champagne creations instil in the senses, slowly revealing warmer, seductive nuances on the skin as time goes by. A special sensory journey where scent and taste entwine.(50 ML | € 275)
