If there’s one fragrance family that never believed in behaving, it’s Scandal. Jean Paul Gaultier’s provocateur of a perfume line keeps pushing boundaries, and with the new Scandal Pour Homme Elixir and Scandal Elixir, subtlety has officially left the building.
Let’s start with the gentleman. Scandal Pour Homme Elixir opens with an unapologetically juicy black cherry—bold, slightly mischievous and impossible to ignore. Patchouli takes over at the heart, bringing depth and power, while tonka bean smooths everything out with addictive warmth. The result? Intense, seductive and slightly dangerous. In other words: the olfactory equivalent of a man who says “just one drink” and suddenly it’s 3 AM. (50 ml | € 115).
Then there’s Scandal Elixir, which doesn’t just enter the room, it owns it. This fruity amber chypre blends juicy blackberry with elegant iris and deep patchouli for a scent that feels luxurious, sensual and a little over the top (in the best possible way). Think velvet, dim lighting and someone who absolutely refuses to keep their voice down.
As a beauty editor I’ll say this: these are not fragrances for people who enjoy being discreet. These are for those who enjoy making an entrance, or an exit. Preferably both (50 ml | € 135).
