Katherine Matilda Swinton is a Scottish actress known for her bold and avant -garde approach to acting and fashion, often playing eccentric and enigmatic characters. So, if there’s anyone who can turn an art exhibition into an experience, it’s Tilda Swinton.
Tilda Swinton – Ongoing is not just a show, it’s a living, breathing journey into the mind of one of the world’s most celebrated performers, artists, and style icons. Over the coming months, you’ll find Tilda regularly at Eye for live conversations, as well as performances like: A Biographical Wardrobe and Bliss #2.

In her opening speech, Tilda summed it up beautifully: “Together we have created an exhibition about curiosity. About being young. About growing older. About following your intuition and sharing the workload. About unknown outcomes and dropping breadcrumbs in the woods. About making work the process, not the product. About messiness, impulses, and organic matter. About phantoms and traces and leaves underfoot. About connection and fusion. About joy. About camaraderie and trust. And about cinema. Hallelujah, all. On we go.”

A Magical Conversation: Tilda Swinton & Apichatpong Weerasethakul
Tilda and Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Palme d’Or winner for Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives) have been “dream friends” for years. For Tilda Swinton – Ongoing, the two recorded a short 16mm film and curated a selection of their favourite short artist films. They sat down together, and with the audience, (me included), to discuss these works, their inspirations, and the creative process behind them.
It was such a pleasure to attend this conversation and watch the short films that are so dear to their hearts. A rare, intimate peek into two of the most poetic minds in cinema today.
The exhibition is an absolute gem, and a must see. The Tilda Swinton Ungoing exhibition runs from 28 September 2025 — 8 February 2026.
