Imagine snow freshly gathered from Mount Fuji shaved into soft flakes, then drenched in syrup, tea, or fruit. Kakigori is the most luxurious form of Japanese ice dessert you can dream up, and delicate, just like these fragrances.
Kakigori White Crush feels like wearing freshly fallen snow where white musk, iris, and rose captures a sense of icy innocence. It’s purity bottled that reminds me of fresh laundry. Then there’s Dulce De Leche, which might be my favorite. It’s a slow melt of milk, sugar, nut, cardamom, sesame, vanilla, and sandalwood. Sweet, creamy, and just a little sinful. Like dipping a silver spoon into the icy comfort food itself.
Layered together, they create a slightly floral and sweet gourmand that’s airy but oh so decadent. Plum Cream is inspired by the Japanese umeboshi plum. It plays around with salt, rum, davana, and cistus, creating a fruity-leathery fragrance with an umami twist. When paired with Kakigori White Crush that clean freshness is added. Quite an interesting experience.
These Obvious perfumes remind me of Japan itself. Minimal but layered, a little poetic and even sensual. I can’t wait to go back and experience it all over again. The culture, the rituals, the flavours… and yes, the kakigori. Time to get familiar.
