Louis Vuitton has entered the beauty chat and in true LV fashion, they’re not playing small. La Beauté is the house’s first-ever makeup collection, dreamed up by Dame Pat McGrath, the queen of couture color. This is not just another beauty launch. It’s collectible, refillable luxury beauty and quite possibly too pretty and lavish to actually use (but you’ll want to).
The debut line-up is beauty indulgence at it’s best:
LV Rouge are satin and matte lipsticks in 55 shades (yes, fifty-five… your lipstick wardrobe just levelled up) The crème lipsticks hold their own for 6–8 hours, (I can confirm), staying satin-slick. The mattes are more of a modern lip-stain, leaving a blurred, I-woke-up-like-this effect.
LV Baume contain10 sheer, kiss-me quick lip balm tints that are quite sheer, yet keeps lips looking lush and hydrated.
LV Ombres collection contains eight eyeshadow palettes, each with four shades curated with that signature McGrath look and feel. The eyeshadows offers a light wash of subtle color, but layered over an eye primer or cream shadow you’ll get that sought after runway-level saturation.
The items are priced like the objets d’art they are: €140 for the lipsticks and balms, € 220 for the eye palettes. Priced at € 60 refills for the lipstick and lip balms are a little gentler on the wallet, so you might want to consider these your forever pieces. Louis Vuitton just made make-up a collector’s item and honestly, resisting them might be the hardest luxury flex of all.
