A beautiful and deeply meaningful visit to WALA, the home of Dr. Hauschka, where beauty revealed itself as something far more intentional than skincare alone.
Founded in 1967 by chemist Rudolf Hauschka, the German brand is rooted in a philosophy where nature, science, and rhythm exist in quiet harmony. Experiencing this firsthand, from the laboratories to the biodynamic farm brought that philosophy to life.
From the sensory feel & experience workshop with Manuela Schöbel to the medicinal herb garden with Marijke Vermeulen, every detail revealed a clear point of view. The Naturamus presentation by Lilli Kuhn and Benjamin Wörz offered a closer understanding of raw materials such as rose and lanolin.

Ingredients that felt less like components, and more like something alive. Witnessing formulation with Brigitte Schmid-Mian and connecting with Marie Calas, Group Lead Product Development Cosmetics, added clarity to the brand’s approach, while Sonnenhof, the biodynamic farm guided by Simon Ewald, brought everything back to its origin. The future of beauty promises to be holistic.
Where Philosophy Becomes Practice
At Dr. Hauschka, products are not designed to correct the skin, but to support it as a living system and begins with cleansing. The cleansing cream gently exfoliates while stimulating renewal, never stripping while the soothing cleansing milk offers a more delicate alternative, maintaining balance in sensitive skin.
The facial toner which I love shifts the idea of hydration, working to activate the skin’s natural functions rather than simply adding moisture. Protection comes through the iconic rose day cream, which strengthens the skin barrier and supports resilience, while the revitalising day lotion restores energy and radiance to tired, dull skin.
What sets these formulations apart is their intention: they don’t override the skin, but train it to function better. An investment not just in skincare, but in the long-term health and intelligence of the skin. The future of beauty promises to be holistic.

Perched high above the landscape, Hotel Burg Staufeneck brought a sense of stillness and perspective, where Michelin-starred dining at Restaurant RS translated the same philosophy onto the plate, with the same respect for nature and seasonality.

Grateful to Pure Beauty PR & Dr. Hauschka for the invitation and the wonderful company.
