Most perfumes are in a rush. Newness, impact, attention. ānti is different. When I first smelled ānti during the Skins press launch, it felt less like discovering a new brand and more like remembering something ancient. This is perfume as olfactory archaeology: scents that are rooted in human history, pulled forward and reinterpreted for now. Not nostalgic. Precise.
The name refers to the oldest known perfume, worn in ancient Egyptian rituals that connected the earthly to the spiritual. That philosophy runs through everything ānti does. Each fragrance is anchored in a moment in time. bast traces back to what is believed to be the first perfume ever worn — incense, myrrh, saffron and resins with a quiet, almost animal intensity.

My personal favorite is Dukes Carpet. Set in 1953, it’s inspired by a dry martini served in the London gentlemen’s club where Ian Fleming imagined James Bond. Amalfi lemon, juniper and gin cut sharply through woods and amber. Clean, composed, deliciously powerful.

Wearing it instantly takes me back to a James Bond inspired press trip to Cascais. Atlantic air, tailored elegance, a speedboat tour and late-night martinis. That kind of glamour that never announces itself. (100 ml | €195) Discovery Set (7×2 ml | € 35)
